Jane Wallis-   Wallis, a noted plein air impressionistic oil painter recently won "Best of Show" at the Plein Air Painters US Open in Coupeville, Washington.  She is a signature member of the Northwest Pastel Society, Northwest Watercolor Society, along with being a member of the Pastel Society of America and the Oil Painters of America.

Wallis began teaching art in elementary schools in the early sixties, then moved on to being an art consultant, and to teaching drawing at Olympic College and Northwest College of Art.

"I particularly enjoy plein air painting.  Light on the landscape changes by time of day, and with clouds and weather.  It creates innumerable possibilities of color harmonies and shapes of light and dark with a significant challenge to see and keep focus on a composition.  I search for positive emotions, optimism and excitement during the painting process.  Painting is an artistic experience.  An experience I strive to put on paper or canvas for myself and others to relive with the viewing."

Her prices range from $450 - $4000.
