Michael
Moe is a Pacific Northwest artist who has been
involved in art for the past forty years. He was raised
in Snohomish, Washington, and was influenced by his high
school art teacher. In the mid-70's, Moe pursued his
art in college and received his BA in Art Education from Central
Washington University. He has taught and produced works
in drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, and jewelry making.
Currently Moe is
creating works of art that are abstract in form. The
composition is complex, which denotes his personal adventure
in life. He views each of his pieces as an expression
of his own existence. Simple in nature, one is
drawn to the layering of texture, color, and shape in Moe's
work. Complex fields of biomorphic and geometric shapes captivate
the viewer's visual sense. His works are a tribute to
beauty, but also to the pushing and pulling of uncontrollable
forces that we try to control, shape, or overcome.
